Matt Mulvaney - JV Head Coach

Freshman Coach Matt Mulvaney graduated from Grayslake Central High School in 2005 where he was a three-sport varsity athlete. He attended Aurora University where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Physical Education/Health, while also lettering on the Spartan Baseball Team. Coach Mulvaney was named Team Captain as a Senior and helped lead the Spartans to a Northern Athletics Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament berth.

Upon graduation Coach Mulvaney became actively involved in coaching baseball at the travel and high school level. Several years ago, he was part of the Grayslake Central Coaching Staff that appeared in the 2012 3A Super-Sectional and won 2013 3A 3rd Place. Matt works as a PE instructor at Sunny Hill.  Coach Mulvaney has a true passion for coaching the game and is happy to join the Bronco Baseball Program.  Matt has a baby boy named Nolan.


Mel Meyer - JV Assistant Coach

Mel Meyer is entering his first season as the assistant coach for the JV team. He grew up in Lake Zurich, where he was a three-sport athlete and captain of his varsity baseball and football teams. Throughout his career he has had the focus of coaching students “UP” and helping them reach their full potential in sports and life.

Mel has extensive coaching experience at the travel baseball level and in the feeder football program for Cary-Grove High School (CHHS). In addition, in 2010, he was the Sophomore Football Offensive Coordinator for Saint Edwards High School in Elgin, where his nickname was “The Professor”. Mel first coached with Pat Wire in 1992, when Pat, while playing quarterback for CGHS, was his assistant coach working with quarterbacks and wide receivers.

After working for over 22 years in the C-suite for two major Chicago based real estate and construction companies, he retired from business in August 2016. Today, Mel is an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University, teaching accounting, finance and real estate capital to graduate students in the McCormick School of Engineering. His greatest passion was and still is establishing inspiring programs to develop the future leaders of companies.

Mel and his wife Barb, for 40 years, reside in Cary, Il and have three great kids; two married and one engaged. They enjoy playing with their five grandchildren and spending time at their cabin in Hayward, Wi. Mel and Barb have strong ties to Barrington High School (BHS) as Barb is the chairperson for the Agnes Kruger Memorial Scholarship Fund which has, over the last 8 years, awarded almost $.5 million in music scholarships to BHS students.
